Al-Muddaththir
سُورَةُ المُدَّثِّرِ
The Cloaked One · 56 verses · Meccan
1
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُدَّثِّرُ
EN O you who covers himself [with a garment],
FR O, toi (Muhammad)! Le revêtu d'un manteau!
ES ¡Tú, el envuelto en un manto!
2
قُمْ فَأَنذِرْ
EN Arise and warn
FR Lève-toi et avertis.
ES ¡Levántate y advierte!
3
وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْ
EN And your Lord glorify
FR Et de ton Seigneur, célèbre la grandeur.
ES A tu Señor, ¡ensálzale!
4
وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْ
EN And your clothing purify
FR Et tes vêtements, purifie-les.
ES Tu ropa, ¡purifícala!
5
وَٱلرُّجْزَ فَٱهْجُرْ
EN And uncleanliness avoid
FR Et de tout péché, écarte-toi.
ES La abominación, ¡huye de ella!
6
وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُ
EN And do not confer favor to acquire more
FR Et ne donne pas dans le but de recevoir davantage.
ES ¡No des esperando ganancia!
7
وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصْبِرْ
EN But for your Lord be patient.
FR Et pour ton Seigneur, endure.
ES La decisión de tu Señor, ¡espérala paciente!
8
فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِى ٱلنَّاقُورِ
EN And when the trumpet is blown,
FR Quand on sonnera du Clairon,
ES Cuando suene la trompeta,
9
فَذَٰلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌ
EN That Day will be a difficult day
FR alors, ce jour-là sera un jour difficile,
ES ése será, entonces, un día difícil
10
عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍۢ
EN For the disbelievers - not easy.
FR pas facile pour les mécréants.
ES para los infieles, no fácil.
11
ذَرْنِى وَمَنْ خَلَقْتُ وَحِيدًۭا
EN Leave Me with the one I created alone
FR Laisse-Moi avec celui que J'ai créé seul,
ES ¡Déjame solo con Mi criatura,
12
وَجَعَلْتُ لَهُۥ مَالًۭا مَّمْدُودًۭا
EN And to whom I granted extensive wealth
FR et à qui J'ai donné des biens étendus,
ES a quien he dado una gran hacienda,
13
وَبَنِينَ شُهُودًۭا
EN And children present [with him]
FR et des enfants qui lui tiennent toujours compagnie,
ES e hijos varones que están presentes!
14
وَمَهَّدتُّ لَهُۥ تَمْهِيدًۭا
EN And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].
FR pour qui aussi J'ai aplani toutes difficultés
ES Todo se lo he facilitado,
15
ثُمَّ يَطْمَعُ أَنْ أَزِيدَ
EN Then he desires that I should add more.
FR Cependant, il convoite [de Moi] que Je lui donne davantage.
ES pero aún anhela que le dé más.
16
كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لِءَايَٰتِنَا عَنِيدًۭا
EN No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate.
FR Pas du tout! Car il reniait nos versets (le Coran) avec entêtement.
ES ¡No! Se ha mostrado hostil a Nuestros signos.
17
سَأُرْهِقُهُۥ صَعُودًا
EN I will cover him with arduous torment.
FR Je vais le contraindre à gravir une pente.
ES Le haré subir por una cuesta.
18
إِنَّهُۥ فَكَّرَ وَقَدَّرَ
EN Indeed, he thought and deliberated.
FR Il a réfléchi. Et il a décidé.
ES Ha reflexionado y tomado una decisión,
19
فَقُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
EN So may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
FR Qu'il périsse! Comme il a décidé!
ES pero ¡qué decisión! ¡Maldito sea!
20
ثُمَّ قُتِلَ كَيْفَ قَدَّرَ
EN Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated.
FR Encore une fois, qu'il périsse; comme il a décidé!
ES Sí, ¡qué decisión! ¡Maldito sea!
21
ثُمَّ نَظَرَ
EN Then he considered [again];
FR Ensuite, il a regardé.
ES Luego, ha mirado.
22
ثُمَّ عَبَسَ وَبَسَرَ
EN Then he frowned and scowled;
FR Et il s'est renfrogné et a durci son visage.
ES Luego, se ha puesto ceñudo y triste.
23
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ وَٱسْتَكْبَرَ
EN Then he turned back and was arrogant
FR Ensuite il a tourné le dos et s'est enflé d'orgueil
ES Luego, ha vuelto la espalda, lleno de altivez.
24
فَقَالَ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ يُؤْثَرُ
EN And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others].
FR Puis il a dit: «Ceci (le Coran) n'est que magie apprise
ES Y ha dicho: «¡Esto no es sino magia aprendida!
25
إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا قَوْلُ ٱلْبَشَرِ
EN This is not but the word of a human being."
FR ce n'est là que la parole d'un humain».
ES ¡No es sino la palabra de un mortal!»
26
سَأُصْلِيهِ سَقَرَ
EN I will drive him into Saqar.
FR Je vais le brûler dans le Feu intense (Saqar).
ES ¡Lo entregaré al ardor del saqar !
27
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سَقَرُ
EN And what can make you know what is Saqar?
FR Et qui te dira ce qu'est Saqar?
ES Y ¿cómo sabrás qué es el saqar ?
28
لَا تُبْقِى وَلَا تَذَرُ
EN It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned],
FR Il ne laisse rien et n'épargne rien;
ES No deja residuos, no deja nada.
29
لَوَّاحَةٌۭ لِّلْبَشَرِ
EN Blackening the skins.
FR Il brûle la peau et la noircit.
ES Abrasa al mortal.
30
عَلَيْهَا تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ
EN Over it are nineteen [angels].
FR Ils sont dix neuf à y veiller.
ES Hay diecinueve que lo guardan.
31
وَمَا جَعَلْنَآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلنَّارِ إِلَّا مَلَٰٓئِكَةًۭ ۙ وَمَا جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَهُمْ إِلَّا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِيَسْتَيْقِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَيَزْدَادَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنًۭا ۙ وَلَا يَرْتَابَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۙ وَلِيَقُولَ ٱلَّذِينَ فِى قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌۭ وَٱلْكَٰفِرُونَ مَاذَآ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًۭا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ جُنُودَ رَبِّكَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَمَا هِىَ إِلَّا ذِكْرَىٰ لِلْبَشَرِ
EN And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.
FR Nous n'avons assigné comme gardiens du Feu que des Anges. Cependant, Nous n'en avons fixé le nombre que pour éprouver les mécréants, et aussi afin que ceux à qui le Livre a été apporté soient convaincus, et que croisse la foi de ceux qui croient, et que ceux à qui le Livre a été apporté et les croyants n'aient point de doute; et pour que ceux qui ont au cœur quelque maladie ainsi que les mécréants disent: «Qu'a donc voulu Allah par cette parabole?» C'est ainsi qu'Allah égare qui Il veut et guide qui Il veut. Nul ne connaît les armées de ton Seigneur, à part Lui. Et ce n'est là qu'un rappel pour les humains.
ES No hemos puesto sino a ángeles como guardianes del Fuego y no los hemos puesto en ese número sino para tentar a los infieles, para que los que han recibido la Escritura crean firmemente, para que los creyentes se fortifiquen en su fe, para que no duden ni los que han recibido la Escritura ni los creyentes, para que los enfermos de corazón y los infieles digan: «¿Qué es lo que se propone Alá con esta parábola?» Así es como Alá extravía a quien Él quiere y dirige a quien Él quiere. Nadie sino Él conoce las legiones de tu Señor. No es sino una amonestación dirigida a los mortales.
32
كَلَّا وَٱلْقَمَرِ
EN No! By the moon
FR Non!... Par la lune!
ES ¡No! ¡Por la luna!
33
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذْ أَدْبَرَ
EN And [by] the night when it departs
FR Et par la nuit quand elle se retire!
ES ¡Por la noche cuando declina!
34
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَآ أَسْفَرَ
EN And [by] the morning when it brightens,
FR Et par l'aurore quand elle se découvre!
ES ¡Por la mañana cuando apunta!
35
إِنَّهَا لَإِحْدَى ٱلْكُبَرِ
EN Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions]
FR [Saqar] est l'un des plus grands [malheurs]
ES Es, sí, una de las mayores,
36
نَذِيرًۭا لِّلْبَشَرِ
EN As a warning to humanity -
FR un avertissement, pour les humains.
ES a modo de advertencia para los mortales,
37
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَتَقَدَّمَ أَوْ يَتَأَخَّرَ
EN To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind.
FR Pour qui d'entre vous, veut avancer ou reculer.
ES para aquéllos de vosotros que quieran adelantarse o rezagarse.
38
كُلُّ نَفْسٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ رَهِينَةٌ
EN Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained
FR Toute âme est l'otage de ce qu'elle a acquis.
ES Cada uno será responsable de lo que haya cometido.
39
إِلَّآ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْيَمِينِ
EN Except the companions of the right,
FR Sauf les gens de la droite (les élus):
ES Pero los de la derecha,
40
فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
EN [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other
FR dans des Jardins, ils s'interrogeront
ES en jardines, se preguntarán unos a otros
41
عَنِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
EN About the criminals,
FR au sujet des criminels:
ES acerca de los pecadores.
42
مَا سَلَكَكُمْ فِى سَقَرَ
EN [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?"
FR «Qu'est-ce qui vous a acheminés à Saqar?»
ES «¿Qué es lo que os ha conducido al saqar ?»
43
قَالُوا۟ لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ
EN They will say, "We were not of those who prayed,
FR Ils diront: «Nous n'étions pas de ceux qui faisaient la Salât,
ES Dirán: «No éramos de los que oraban,
44
وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ ٱلْمِسْكِينَ
EN Nor did we used to feed the poor.
FR et nous ne nourrissions pas le pauvre,
ES no dábamos de comer al pobre,
45
وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ ٱلْخَآئِضِينَ
EN And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],
FR et nous nous associions à ceux qui tenaient des conversations futiles,
ES parloteábamos con los parlones
46
وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
EN And we used to deny the Day of Recompense
FR et nous traitions de mensonge le jour de la Rétribution,
ES y desmentíamos el día del Juicio,
47
حَتَّىٰٓ أَتَىٰنَا ٱلْيَقِينُ
EN Until there came to us the certainty."
FR jusqu'à ce que nous vînt la vérité évidente [la mort]».
ES hasta que vino a nosotros la cierta».
48
فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَٰعَةُ ٱلشَّٰفِعِينَ
EN So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
FR Ne leur profitera point donc, l'intercession des intercesseurs.
ES Los intercesores no podrán hacer nada por ellos.
49
فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ ٱلتَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ
EN Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away
FR Qu'ont-ils à se détourner du Rappel?
ES ¿Por qué han tenido que apartarse del Recuerdo,
50
كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌۭ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌۭ
EN As if they were alarmed donkeys
FR Ils sont comme des onagres épouvantés,
ES como asnos espantados
51
فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍۭ
EN Fleeing from a lion?
FR s'enfuyant devant un lion.
ES que huyen del león?
52
بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَىٰ صُحُفًۭا مُّنَشَّرَةًۭ
EN Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about.
FR Chacun d'eux voudrait plutôt qu'on lui apporte des feuilles tout étalées.
ES Todos ellos quisieran que se les trajeran hojas desplegadas.
53
كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ
EN No! But they do not fear the Hereafter.
FR Ah! Non! C'est plutôt qu'ils ne craignent pas l'au-delà.
ES Pero ¡no! No temen la otra vida.
54
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ
EN No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder
FR Ah! Non! Ceci est vraiment un Rappel.
ES ¡No! Es un Recuerdo,
55
فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ
EN Then whoever wills will remember it.
FR Quiconque veut, qu'il se le rappelle.
ES que recordará quien quiera.
56
وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ هُوَ أَهْلُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ وَأَهْلُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ
EN And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness.
FR Mais ils ne se rappelleront que si Allah veut. C'est Lui qui est Le plus digne d'être craint; et c'est Lui qui détient le pardon.
ES Pero no lo tendrán en cuenta, a menos que Alá quiera. Es digno de ser temido y digno de perdonar.
